WOMAN TO FACE COURT OVER SINGLE-VEHICLE ROAD FATALITY

Police say the 39-year-old woman who was behind the wheel on a car that crashed on the state’s mid north coast, resulting in the death of a passenger, was under the influence of drugs at the time.

Back in March this year, The Holden Commodore crashed at the intersection of The Lakes Way and Coomba Park Road at Smiths Lake.

The 43-year-old male passenger died at the scene, while the female driver was taken to hospital for mandatory blood testing.

Following investigations, the woman was yesterday charged with a range of offences, including dangerous driving occasioning death, and driving with illicit drug present in blood.

She had her licence suspended and will appear in court in October.
