REVIEW INTO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN NSW HOSPITALS
A community consultation session is currently underway in Newcastle tonight, as part of a review into mental health services in New South Wales hospitals.
It’s the third session as part of an independent statewide inquiry into seclusion, restraint use and observation.
“Improving our services won’t happen without good participation and constructive input from people who have experienced our services they are real experts and they’ve often not been adequately heard”
The review was prompted following the death of Miriam Mertens inside a north coast mental health unit, three years ago.
