A man has been arrested in Tamworth late this afternoon, following a police pursuit north of the CBD.
After crashing a Toyota Camry through the gate of a Marius Street home at around 4:30, the driver fled on foot.
A man was apprehended a short time after, on nearby Bligh Street.
“From the recovery of the vehicle, it will be alleged that he assaulted a woman in one of the neighbouring properties, and she is currently being treated by ambulance,” said Chief Inspector Phil O’Reilly from Oxley LAC.
Officers are now investigating if there’s a connection between the suspect and an attempted armed robbery in Armidale.
