TAMWORTH FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICE GIVEN HELPING HAND
With more than 300 domestic violence referrals every month, the Tamworth Family Support Service is stretched thin.
But now it’s been given a helping hand, with staff from a local business sacrificing part of their weekly wage for the organisation.
Today $5000 was donated.
“This sort of stuff will make a difference. It means people can get that extra support, whether it’s a psychologist or even the basics like their toothpaste.”
$9000 was raised as part of the fundraiser, with a handful of other organisations also set to benefit.
“They were actually chosen by the staff members. So we have.. Within the foundation we have a group of staff members who determine where they’d like it distributed in the community.”
