SHIFTING SANDS AT COFFS JETTY

Big seas combined with king tides over the weekend have shifted thousands of tonnes of sand at Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Foreshore.

Works to upgrade the precinct are currently underway, with planned improvements which the council says will protect the area from erosion.

“the works that have been designed are half way through and will certainly protect that corner that’s the whole intent of them, we are losing a bit of sand there, the yacht club was starting to look in danger, so that will be fixed as part of those works.”

Two pumps were lost at the site when it was swamped by the big tides.
