PORT MACQUARIE TEEN ATTACKED AND HAS BACKPACK STOLEN

A 13-year-old boy has been attacked, and had property stolen on the Mid North Coast.

Around 2pm yesterday, the boy was riding his bike on Major Innes Road in Port Macquarie.

He stopped to give way to a car, when he was struck on the back of his neck, causing him to fall to the ground.

The man has then fled the scene on foot with the boy’s backpack, and was last seen headed south on The Ruins Way.

The boy was not injured in the incident.

Police now wish to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being 20 to 30 years old, about 180cm tall with a thin build. He has dark brown hair and was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white logo across the chest, denim knee length shorts, black joggers and a black beanie.
