DRUGS AND WEAPONS ALLEGEDLY DISCOVERED IN MEREWETHER PROPERTY SEARCH

Police have allegedly uncovered illicit drugs, firearms, and cash during a property search in a beachside suburb of Newcastle.

The search warrant was executed at a unit on Watkins Street in Merewether, around 9am yesterday.

Police allegedly located two firearms, three prohibited weapons, cash, credit cards, and drugs including MDMA and cannabis during the search.

A 25-year-old man will face court in August charged with having goods in custody, supplying a prohibited drug, and three counts of possessing an unauthorised weapon, among others.
