TWO IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING GOLD COAST VEHICLE SEARCH

Police have allegedly discovered stolen property, drugs, and firearms during a vehicle search on the Gold Coast.

In the early hours of this morning, police saw a vehicle parked near the intersection of Zane Street and Ashmore Road in Molendinar.

Police say when they approached, three men jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.

After a short foot chase, two of the men were taken into custody.

Police will allege they found stolen property, drugs, two firearms and ammunition during a search of the vehicle.

A 31-year-old man from Worongary and a 28-year-old Nerang man have been charged a number of weapon and drug related offences.

Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
