DRUGS ALLEGEDLY DISCOVERED IN BALLINA AIRPORT SEARCH

A Byron Bay man has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug, after police allegedly discovered methylamphetamine and ketamine on him during a search.

Around 3:30pm yesterday, police stopped and searched the man, aged 41, in the car park of the Ballina-Byron Airport in Ballina.

Police allegedly seized 110g of methylamphetamine and a small amount of ketamine.

A subsequent search of the man’s home in Byron Bay allegedly turned up a number of items that were seized for examination.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable quantity) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He will appear in Ballina Local Court next month.
