QUEENSLAND MAN EXTRADITED OVER ALLEGED 2009 SEXUAL ASSAULT

A 29-year-old man from Queensland has been extradited to NSW over the alleged historical sexual abuse of a boy on the Central Coast.

Police commenced an investigation following reports a young boy was sexually assaulted by a man known to him in 2009.

With the assistance of Queensland Police, a 29-year-old man was arrested at Rockhampton on Wednesday, and he was subsequently extradidted to NSW.

He appeared at Central Local Court yesterday, and was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16.

Police will allege the man sexually assaulted the boy – then aged seven – when visiting at his home.

He will reappear in court next week.
