ASBESTOS ON WAMBERAL BEACH

Asbestos still remains uncovered at Wamberal Beach, despite being reported back in April.

Meanwhile, Wamberal residents are furious with what they say is the lack of communication by Central Coast Council regarding beach erosion.

Recently Council finalised its long-awaited Coastal Zone Management Plan to allow landowners to erect temporary protection works, but according to residents the storms are coming and no action has been taken by Council.

  1. Dangerous Asbestos, this must be fixed urgently its not acceptable our beach is exposed to asbestos fibres.

  2. Where did this asbestos come from – no doubt from the damaged houses along wamberal beach. Why is it not the responsibility of those property owners to remedy this? Why should it be a community cost?
These are the same people who are demanding the council, ie., you and me, pay for a wall to protect their property.
Let those houses wash away – give someone else the chance to be ‘waterfront’

  3. absolutely, not to mention all the other rubbish ( fence palings, bricks, sleepers, etc. ) that have been washed into the sea & still remain on the beach – & a staircase that is slowly collapsing & could cause an injury to children playing under it, council & EPA needs to get involved!

  4. Why cant the owners of the beach houses build a wall themselves and be done with it ?
