MCEVOY OVAL UPGRADE ALMOST OPEN

The long-awaited upgrade to facilities at McEvoy Oval, Umina, is on track to be completed next month.

Federal and state MPs met with representatives from local sporting clubs and Central Coast Council today for a sneak peak at the new amenities block.

Member for Robertson Lucy Wicks says Peninsula locals were determined to see the work done.

“It was thanks to their fighting spirit that we’re actually seeing this funding but we’re also seeing this dream become a reality.”

Kylie Brown from Woy Woy Peninsula Little Athletics is rapt with the progress.

“To see it sort of here now is absolutely amazing. I’m absolutely thrilled; can’t wait to move in.”

The project is costing more than three quarters of a million dollars – with all levels of government and the sporting clubs contributing.
