GREAT START FOR BAKER AT QS 6000 IN JAPAN

Merewether surfer Jackson Baker is off to a great start at the 6000-point Qualifying Series event in Japan.
The 20-year-old managed a 6.93 on his opening wave, then waited more than 10 minutes to add to his total.
“Jackson Baker in red, this is his second wave score, three belts, a back up score on a smaller wave.”
Baker would catch just three waves, but that was enough in the small, inconsistent conditions, to win the heat.
“I always seem to do good in Japan and I just have a rhythm and feel quite at home so I’m relaxed so to get a good heat win out of the way and a couple of good scores it feels good.”
