12-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER ALLEGED GOLD COAST HOLD UP

A 12-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged armed robbery of a Gold Coast service station.

About 9.10pm last night, the boy attended the service station in Old Coach Road in Upper Coomera, and allegedly threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash.

Staff complied, and he fled the store with a sum of money.

The female staff member was not injured.

Police located the boy shortly after at a nearby residence, and recovered all the money.

He was charged with one count of armed robbery.
