A Hamilton resident has detained an intruder in his home, during an alleged break-in last night.
Three people were inside the Warrah Street property just before 8:30, when one of the occupants allegedly found a man inside his bedroom.
Police say the two became involved in a scuffle, before family members alerted authorities.
A 58-year-old man was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter.
