MIDWIFERY CONSUMER COMMITTEE TO BE FORMED
A group of Tamworth mums and Hunter New England Health have struck a deal, agreeing to form a new consumer group to better inform the public of hospital decisions in the midwifery program.
The committee will consist of 12 people, with seven local health district executives and five members of the community.
The group is being formed following public outcry when Tamworth Hospital’s Community Midwifery Program was put on a sudden hiatus.
Places on the panel are expected to be advertised next week.
