WEAPONS AND DRUGS ALLEGEDLY DISCOVERED IN GOLD COAST VEHICLE SEARCH

Police have allegedly uncovered knives, knuckledusters, a rifle, and drugs during a search of a vehicle on the Gold Coast yesterday.

Officers were conducting targeted patrols in Nerang, when they intercepted an unregistered Toyota Hilux on Southport Nerang Road around 7:30pm.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police allege they discovered an amount of drugs including cocaine and methylamphetamine, along with a number of knives, knuckledusters, a rifle and ammunition.

A 31-year-old man from Burleigh has been charged with 12 offences including weapons and drug possession.

A 21-year-old Gaven woman was issued with a Notice to Appear for with unlawful possession of a weapon.
