WORKING GROUP TO INVESTIGATE GP CRISIS
The Federal Government has announced it’ll fund a working group to investigate the shortage of GPs on the Peninsula.
The $100,000 will be spent identify where doctors are needed, while also looking at establishing a longer term solution.
“This funding is going to ensure that we do solve the crisis of people who need to see a doctor a family doctor on the Peninsula being able to access one and see one when they are sick- this is fantastic news for so many families on the Peninsula,” Federal Member for Robertson Lucy Wicks said.
It’s believed the aging GP population along with challenges in recruitment could be to blame for the current crisis.
