An elderly resident has been threatened and detained at knife point on the mid north coast.
Around 2pm yesterday, a man entered a home on High St in Nambucca Heads, and threatened the 70-year-old male with a knife.
He was then allegedly made to drive to an ATM on Bowra Street to withdraw money, but was able to escape the vehicle and alert police.
After a foot pursuit and minor physical altercation, police arrested a 46-year-old man who was later charged with aggravated break and enter, detain for advantage, and use weapon to avoid apprehension.
He will appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
