CENTRAL COAST BUSHWALKERS FOUND SAFE AND WELL

Police and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter have been able to locate a group of bushwalkers who went missing on the Central Coast overnight.

Yesterday morning, a 72-year-old female, a 69-year-old male, and a 65-year-old female set out on a walk through the Dhurang National Park Mangrove Mountain, west of Gosford.

Family members became concerned when the group did not return at the expected time.

A search was initiated, and shortly after 9pm the rescue helicopter crew spotted a fire in the search area.

The GPS coordinates of the fire were passed onto police, and the group was located around midnight.

There were no injuries and the trio were re-united with their families.
