INVERELL MAYOR HOPEFUL NEW HOSPITAL WILL BRING AIRLINE TO TOWN
It’s hoped a new hospital in Inverell could pave the way for an airline to service the town.
This week the final design plans were released for the $30-million redevelopment.
Inverell has been without an airline for almost a decade and Mayor Paul Harmon believes modern facilities could garner the need for air access to the town.
“If we have a really good health facility here, with good quality services we can attract good quality physicians to here, so then that puts the pressure on those airlines.”
It’s hoped the first round of funding for the hospital redevelopment will be allocated in the upcoming state budget.
