18-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER WEST TAMWORTH ASSAULT

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a man was struck in the head with a brick and a bottle, in the north west at the weekend.

Police say the man, aged 32, suffered serious head and facial injuries after allegedly being struck in the head during a large brawl on Green Street in West Tamworth, on Sunday morning.

The victim remains in a Sydney hospital in a stable condition with a fractured skull.

Subsequent inquiries led police to a home on Sue Crescent in West Tamworth, where they arrested the teen.

He was later charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.
