SEAGULLS COMFORTABLE WINNERS OVER SCORPIONS

In local league, Wests scored a hard fought win over Cessnock, while Lakes beat the Scorpions by 12 at Belmont.

Macquarie hit the front when Andy Sumner sold a dummy then scored under the posts.

The Seagulls hit back, as Jack Kelly got the home side into the contest.

Lakes then produced an impressive backline move, before Kyle Kennedy grabbed his first try.

The Scorpions made life tough for themselves sending the restart out on the full.

Kennedy was involved again as he streaked away, before Jacob Gagai cleaned up for Lakes.

Royce Geoffrey gave Macquarie some hope of a comeback. But the damage was done before the break – Chris Adams and Kennedy with a spectacular effort.

Another try before the break gave the Scorpions too much to chase.
