ROCK THROWN AT COURTESY BUS INJURES WOMAN

A 37-year-old Taree woman has suffered a facial injury, when a rock was thrown through the window of the bus she was travelling on last night.

The woman was inside the ‘Club Taree’ vehicle at around 7:30 on Bushland Drive, when the rock came flying through an open window, hitting her in the head.

“At this stage investigations are ongoing and police would appeal to any person who may know who the offenders are in this incident to come forward to Taree police,” Chief Inspector John Sullivan from Manning-Great Lakes Police says.

Rock throwing has been an ongoing issue in the area for many years.

Police say a number of juveniles have been taken to court over similar incidents.

“Police would ask parents to take some ownership of their children and make sure that if they are out at night they know what they’re up to.”
