Roads and Maritime Services is urging holidaying motorists to take care and be patient while driving this long weekend.
Queues of up to 4 kilometres are currently affecting the Pacific Highway at Beresfield, approaching John Renshaw Drive, while the New England Highway at Hexham is also experiencing significant delays.
Further north, the Pacific Highway at Macksville, approaching the Nambucca River, is choked with traffic, motorists have been advised to allow an extra 40 minutes of travel time.
Meantime Woodburn-Coraki Road remains under water due to recent flooding.
