DRIVER PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO WHITTINGHAM FATALITY

A Singleton Heights man will stand trial over a fatal crash at Whittingham in late 2015.

22-year-old Charles Monk today fronted Newcastle Local Court, pleading not guilty to dangerous driving occasioning death.

He was allegedly behind the wheel of a ute which collided with a Holden Barina on the New England Highway, claiming the life of its 29-year-old driver, Nicole Rayner.

The trial is set down for July.
