22-YEAR-OLD TO FACE GOLD COAST COURT OVER DANGEROUS DRIVING

A stolen car has been driven at high speed through the Gold Coast, at one point evading police despite three blown tyres.

Just before 8pm on Saturday night, a police helicopter detected a speeding vehicle on the M1 at Highland Park.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle at Wardoo Street, but the driver failed to stop and allegedly continued to drive dangerously through Southport, Pacific Pines and Helensvale.

Officers used road spikes on Helensvale Road at Helensvale, but the vehicle continued on three blown tyres.

Police eventually intercepted the car on Kopps Road at Oxenford.

A 22-year-old man is facing dangerous driving, stealing and drug charges.
