SHOW ORGANISERS HOPING TO BREAK EVEN

The Newcastle Regional Show has wound up for another year.

Financially, the 2017 event is expected to break even, meaning the show will return in 2018.

An increase in sponsorship and exhibitors, along with a $40,000 government grant, has helped it stay afloat.

Today was the busiest in terms of crowd numbers, with animal shows and competitions proving the most popular.

Discussions about next year’s show will begin next week.
