MOREE COOLS OFF

Moree’s record-breaking run of hot weather has ended, with the temperature finally dropping to a comparatively cool 27.7 degrees yesterday.

In all, the town had 54 consecutive days of temperatures above 35 degrees, eclipsing the state record previously held by Bourke of 50 consecutive days.

The heatwave smashing the town’s own previous benchmark of 17 days.

And we’ll have more weather later in the news with Gavin Morris.
