WEATHER: MORE HEAT BEFORE THE RAIN ARRIVES

As the latest trough dips in across the south east, the northerly winds will build further tomorrow.

As the trough approaches, there will be increase afternoon storm activity inland and across the ranges tomorrow afternoon.

The next round of heat will not be as severe as the previous, but the mercury will still hit 40 degrees for some inland communities.

On the weekend one of the best rain-bearing systems of the year will move through producing widespread falls.
