Young Jets Lachlan Jackson, Nick Cowburn and Devante Clut have been selected for an Australian under-23 training camp on the Central Coast next week.
Meanwhile Andrew Hoole, Wayne Brown and Morten Nordstrand are all expected back for Friday’s clash with Melbourne City in Coffs Harbour.
The good news comes off the back of Newcastle’s two-nil loss to Wanderers.
Coach Mark Jones says his side lacked polish, but the Jets are still gunning for a place in the finals.
“We’ve just been undefeated for six weeks so at some point you’re going to lose a game. Muscat said the same thing. Victory have lost a couple but Melbourne I’m sure their belief doesn’t change and nor will ours.”
