Two people have been charged following a spate of thefts on Main Beach at Byron Bay.
At least seven people reported having property stolen, including credit cards, mobile phones and electronics between January 2 and 11.
A 39-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested on Shirley Street late yesterday afternoon.
“The offenders obviously used the credits cards that were stolen and the police were able to identify who they were”
Both face larceny, fraud and shoplifting charges.
They were refused bail and appeared in the Byron Bay Local Court.
