DRAYTON MINE: PLANNING MINISTER DISMISSES REPORTS OF POLICY CHANGES

The state’s Planning Minister has dismissed claims the government’s planning to change legislation to cancel Anglo American’s proposed Drayton South Coal mine, in the Upper Hunter.

News Limited reported the Baird Government is also considering implementing a significant buffer zone to protect nearby horse studs.

In a statement, Rob Stokes says there is no change to government policy.

The project is currently before the Planning Assessment Commission.
