It was the first day of the season for the Evans Head Disabled Surfing branch.
And not even a shark sighting could wipe the smiles off these kids’ faces.
Sunny skies and small waves at Main Beach, providing perfect conditions for the 40 participants and volunteers.
The aim, to give those with physical and mental disabilities a chance to get into the water and experience the thrill of catching waves.
“You see them on the wave and they’re beaming, and they’re just having so much fun catching a wave.”
The next event, at Turners Beach in Yamba on November 19.
