PAIR INJURED AFTER CAR CRASHES INTO RIVER NEAR TWEED HEADS

Two females have been injured, one critically, after their vehicle left the road and drove into a river on the far north coast yesterday.

Shortly before 2pm, emergency services responded to reports of a crash on Tweed Valley Way, Condong, 25km south west of Tweed Heads.

The driver, a woman aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, while a female passenger suffered critical injuries. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Investigations are continuing.

  1. Has the female driver been charged? I heard she was overtaking a truck in a hurry and there is nowhere to overtake legally on that stretch
