RSPCA CONFIRMS REMAINS ARE OF YOUNG GREYHOUND

The RSPCA has confirmed that skeletal remains, found north of Raymond Terrace on Sunday, are that of a young greyhound who was probably one to two years old.

The remains were collected on Monday morning at Swan Bay, following reports of an alleged greyhound mass grave.

While the RSPCA believes some remains were removed before inspectors arrived, they were able to collect a skull and other bones for a veterinary pathologist to examine.

The examination of the skull revealed that the dog was almost certainly killed by a blow or blows to the head with a blunt instrument.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward by contacting 1300 CRUELTY.

  1. They say it’s only a ‘few bad apples’ but those few sure are busy. Almost daily, there are more and more reports of cruelty, deceit, neglect and unacceptable behavior from those involved in this gambling industry. They have had 50 years to clean up their act. It didnt work. Bring on the ban!

  2. There has not been any reports at all of cruelty etc in NSW since the royal commission started looking into it. The greyhound industry was given a warning to clean up……..and they have!

  3. Are you deaf dumb and blind???? They have not cleaned it up at all. They’ve continued doing the same evil they’ve always done. Bludgeoning young dogs to death just because they lose a race or two is routine. And just the top of the iceberg. I only hope this poor soul died immediately & wasn’t just left to bleed out slowly like some.
