MOREE FARMER SENTENCED OVER MURDER OF ENVIRONMENT OFFICER
The elderly farmer, convicted over the shooting murder of Tamworth environment officer Glen Turner, will spend at least the next 24 years behind bars.
81-year-old Ian Turnbull shot dead the father-of-two over an illegal land clearing dispute on his property near Moree in July 2014.
A jury found Turnbull guilty after a five week trial, which heard the shooting was the brutal end to years of tension and court battles.
He was today sentenced to a maximum of 35 years in the NSW Supreme Court.
