FUNDING PLEDGE FOR OXLEY OVAL

Port Macquarie’s Oxley Oval could be in line for a much-needed makeover, if the Coalition is re-elected.

Nationals candidate Luke Hartsuyker, today pledging $100,000 for new changerooms and disabled toilets.

“It will allow what is a magnificent ground to be fully utilised, providing better facilities for the vast number of people who come here,” Mr Hartsuyker said.

Local cricket and rugby union clubs have long called for upgrades to the outdated facility.

“We’ve hosted the grand final here for 3 or 4 years in a row and 4-5,000 people get here for that so it really struggles for that facility,” Hastings Valley Vikings Rugby Union Club’s Teale Bryan said.
