A 51-year-old man has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a young girl more than a decade ago in the Hunter.
Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad have been investigating the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in Newcastle by a man known to her in 2014.
The man was arrested at Waratah Police Station yesterday and charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault (victim under the age of 16) and three counts of sexual assault (victim under the age of 16).
