Michael Diamond’s hopes of competing at the Rio Olympics remain in limbo after an application to have his court case heard early, was today refused by a judge.
Mr Diamond pleaded not guilty to the gun offences and to a drink driving charge in Raymond Terrace Local Court earlier this week.
Lawyers representing the dual gold medallist hoped to have the matter dealt with before the July 4 Olympic selection cut-off date.
The matter’s been adjourned to July 25.
