NARROW WIN HAS SEEN GROUP 3 TAKE WIN IN LEAGUE CLASH

In local rugby league, Group 3 has narrowly snagged its third consecutive victory in the annual representative clash against Group 2, 36-34.

The visiting side was the first to put points on the board, with a try to Nambucca Heads’ Matt Field.

But their opponents quickly fought back, going into halftime with a 10-point lead.

“Yeah it was a really tight game, I think we made it a bit tight at the end there we sort of got to the lead twice and then let them back into the game, but credit to them, they kept coming.”

Group 2’s Mitchell Gorman was the highest scorer of the clash, slamming down three tries in the second half.

“When you get a team of blokes coming together for a couple of training runs defense is hard to train for”
