Newcastle cricketer Jason Sangha has officially become the youngest player in history to receive a New South Wales rookie contract.
The 16-year-old Hunter Sports High student has plenty of high profile supporters, including former Australian captain, Greg Chappell.
Last year he became the youngest player in 90 years to feature for New South Wales in a Second XI match.
Sangha plans to stay in the Hunter to focus on his year 11 commitments, and travel to Sydney to train with the Blues.
