VALE NOEL HARRISON

NBN Television’s first ever sports caster, Noel Harrison, has passed away at the age of 93.

Noel joined NBN in the 1960s after a talent scout saw his passion for sport. He soon became a household name across the Hunter Valley covering live wrestling, basketball and rugby league.

Noel still kept his head on the box after finishing at NBN, as the face of Rueben F Scarf in the Hunter.

Noel spoke to NBN four years ago as he helped the station celebrate its 50th year. (click on the story below)

His funeral will be at Christ Church Cathedral on the Friday 22nd of April.
