GIANTS FOLLOW MAGPIES, DROP OUT OF PREMIER LEAGUE

The NRRRL competition has been dealt a massive blow just days from the season opener, with a second club announcing they won’t be able to field a first grade team.

Mullumbimby told the league overnight they didn’t have a strong enough side to contest the premier league and would only be playing in the reserve grade and under 18 competitons.

It follows a similar decision from the Lower Clarence Magpies last week.

After failing to attract enough players, they withdrew from both the premier and reserve grade competitions.

Despite the losses, existing round one fixtures will still go ahead.

A new 10 team draw for the remainder of the season, will be finalised next week.
