Here is the full statement from the Department of Defence, regarding the first Senate inquiry report into the Williamtown RAAF contamination issue:

Defence notes that this is a report from the first part of a broad ranging inquiry into the use of legacy firefighting foams at Defence and other Commonwealth, state and territory sites. The Minister has asked Defence to closely consider the report and its recommendations and to provide advice to her as a matter of priority.

Defence recognises the concerns of the local community. Defence is working with the Community Reference Group as well as relevant State and Commonwealth Health and Environment departments in the area. Defence is also part of a Commonwealth Interdepartmental Committee examining this issue.
