4-YEAR-OLD GIRL DIES AS RESULT OF MAJOR CAR CRASH NEAR CASINO

A 4-year-old has died as the result of a major car crash on Bruxner Highway, East of Casino about 1.20pm today.

Initial police investigations suggest two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, with one vehicle splitting in two as a result.

The 4-year-old died at the scene.

An 18-year-old woman driver of one of the vehichles has been taken to Lismore Base Hospital with spinal injuries. She had three passengers in the car at the time.

A second girl, a 2-year-old, was also taken to Hospital and remains in a critical condition, while the third passenger, an eight-year-old girl was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries.

An elderly male driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
