A timely warning today for people with backyard pools to do proper safety checks.
Royal Life Saving wants every household with a pool or spa to take time out to ensure it’s compliant.
“Check the fences. Make sure there aren’t any gaps children can get under or through. Check the gates, that they’re self latching and self closing.”
83 children have drowned in backyard pools nationwide since 2002.
