ATTORNEY GENERAL INSPECTS GOSFORD COURTHOUSE’S NEW VIDEO LINK
The state’s Attorney General, Gabrielle Upton, today inspected the Audio Visual Link system at Gosford Courthouse.
Valued at $500,000, the technology has been fitted in all four courts rooms, allowing victims of crime to provide statements without coming face-to-face with the defendant.
“We really want to make our court system more friendly to victims. Whether they’re victims of child sex abuse, or child domestic victims. Give them the opportunity to not have to re-live the trauma when they come before the court system.”
The technology also allows police and witnesses to give evidence from other locations.
