NJC GETS THE GO AHEAD TO RETURN TO RACING

Racing New South Wales officials have given the Newcastle Jockey Club the go ahead to return to racing this Saturday, utilising the recently replaced secondary surface.
With the course proper undergoing a 12-month turf replacement program, the newly renamed Beaumont Track will host eight races.
“It looks a treat and ready to race. We’re waiting to run our first meeting on it to prove itself.”
Meanwhile former NJC CEO Brian Judd has returned to the club on a short term basis to help with the selection of the new Chief Executive.
A pool of more than 30 applicants has been narrowed down to the final few.
“The person who is successful in the position needs a broad business background, enthusiasm, communication with the public.”
