The Hunter branch of the charity ‘Sids and Kids’ is at least $3000 down, after a bum bag containing donations was stolen at the weekend.
The charity, which provides support, research and education for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and other fatal sleeping accidents, was attempting to raise money at a ball on the weekend, when the bag was stolen from the Starlight Room at Wests New Lambton .
A spokesperson for the charity says they’re devastated.
“It is very upsetting to think this could happen on such an important night for a charity”.
Police and Wests are looking into the incident.
